Laminating pictures and photos
Laminating photos, pictures, even paintings on rigid materials such as aluminum dibond, acrylic glass, real glass, wood, etc. is now in good hands with WENZEL. On request, we can bond your work with virtually invisible silicone adhesive and give your creation rich colors for a professional presentation (see also photos to browse through on this page). We have three service options available.
Variant 1: Laminating supplied prints and drawings
Simply bring your drawings, photos, pictures, etc. to one of our four branches in Munich and we will we will mount your work on one of the fine materialswe have on offer. Everything is possible up to a maximum format of 250 cm x 150 cm. Wild formats such as 86.1 x 56.9 cm are also possible, as we cut the substrate to the millimeter with our milling machine, regardless of whether it is aluminum Dibond, acrylic glassglass, real glass, wood (MDF boards, for example) etc. Incidentally, we purchase these media from our regional partners, so you get everything from a single source and can rely on high quality.
Option 2: We print your data on art paper
You can also send us your print data - for example photos, designs etc. - and we will print them on one of our art papers. You can choose from materials such as William Turner, Albrecht Dürer, Torchon, baryta paper, etc. Then we laminate this print onto the carrier of your choice. Naturally, we ship the finished work worldwide.
Option 3: Scanning, printing and laminating paintings
The third service option in terms of laminating or mounting on a desired material is the scanning of a painting with subsequent printing. Yes, you read that right, we can scan paintings, in frames and behind glass, all completely contactless. The result is always absolutely reflection-free and perfectly illuminated. The process: We place the work on the scanning bed of our "Hornet" mega-scanner. We scan up to a format of 2x DIN A0 in one pass, everything above that in several steps, and then assemble the individual parts. Razor-sharp results are guaranteed up to a height of 16 cm. We either apply the resulting printable file directly onto a rigid materialor choose the detour via fine art paperwhich we then laminate.
Lamination: Possible materials
We have several materials on which we can mount your pictures. We present a selection here.
Laminating on Alu Dibond
Alu Dibond is a bend-resistant material whose black polyethylene core is surrounded by two thin white aluminum layers. Alu is available in 2mm, 3mm and 4mm. The maximum format is 150 cm x 250 cm and is ideal for spacer hangings. We can attach a mounting rail to the back on request.
Mounting behind acrylic glass/Plexiglas
On request, we are happy to mount your work behind acrylic glass or real glass. The results never cease to amaze even us: the colors gain a brilliance and saturation that printing alone can only achieve with difficulty. Acrylic glass is available in thicknesses of 2 mm, 3 mm, 4 mm, 5 mm and 10 mm. We can also obtain absolutely pure acrylic glass from specialized suppliers on request. Maximum format: 150 x 250 cm.
Bonding to Smart PVC or PVC
PVC is a lightweight foam sheet that impresses with its robustness and low price. The "Smart PVC" variant is the lightweight version of PVC. The material weighs considerably less kilograms and is suitable for hanging on thin threads. Both materials are also very suitable for framing. The material thicknesses for PVC are 3mm, 5mm and 10mm, for Smart-PVC 5mm and 10mm. The maximum format: 150 x 250 cm.
