Information on the new privacy policy
In the course of the GDPR, WENZEL has revised its data protection guidelines. You can find the most important changes here.
Dear Readers,
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has been in force since May 25, 2018. For this reason, we have updated our data protection guidelines redesigned. You can find it here.
What is changing?
Since there was already a Federal Data Protection Act, not much really. Nevertheless, we would like to list below a brief summary of what is "new" and what we would like to explicitly inform you about:
We process your personal data for the purpose of submitting offers and fulfilling orders. We generally collect the following data for this purpose:
- First name and surname
- Address
- Phone number
- E-mail address
- If applicable, payment data (e.g. bank details/credit card details etc.)
The legal basis is the purchase contract with you (Art. 6 lb EU GDPR). In the case of a card payment, we transfer data to our payment service provider CCV Allcash. If you pay by PayPal, we will issue a PayPal invoice to your email address, i.e. we will provide details (e.g. your email address) to PayPal. In the case of payment by invoice, we only pass on data to our internal accounting department.
As far as the online store is concerned, we collect data relating to direct debit, Paypal, credit card, etc. We use these exclusively to process the order you place with us. Paypal and the credit institutions have their own data protection guidelines.
We would like to point out that we collect data as sparingly as possible. For example, we do not ask for your date of birth when you place an order, as this is irrelevant for the fulfillment of the contract.
Your rights:
The chapter on your rights can be found in detail in WENZEL's data protection guidelines. These include (selection): the right to information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing and a right of objection, etc., provided that this does not conflict with our legal obligation to retain data for accounting purposes.

Why is my address being collected?
We are often asked this question. Customers at the counter in particular want to know this from us. The reason is somewhat "sad": some customers who place an order with us and of whom we only have their name and e-mail address do not come by to collect and pay. Without an address, it is difficult to track them down afterwards and issue an invoice. Unfortunately, this happens relatively often, which is why we are forced to do this.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.
Your
Matthias Wenzel
