Büchele facade foil
Façade lettering on a lifting platform in strong winds - nothing stops WENZEL. We were able to prove this in Unterhaching near Munich.
Dear readers,
Lettering in and around Munich is our specialty, which we can do at the paint wholesaler Büchele and Götzenberger in Unterhaching, Germany. With our colleagues from Repro Ruppert we took on the task of covering a surface measuring a total of six meters high and four meters wide (As always, you can browse through the photos in the article below).
Rough placement of labeling
The first step was to place the lettering roughly on the façade using masking tape. To prevent the sometimes strong winds from tearing the installation off, we "sealed" the left-hand side of the wall so that everything stayed in place. Looking back, this was the most difficult part given the size of the film. Once everything was up, the boss, Mr. Büchele, carried out a brief inspection. He gave us the "go" and it was time to get down to business.
Cut out and blow-dry the first elements
The lettering was now applied to the wall step by step. To do this, we cut out part of the motif, removed the backing film and stuck the material to the façade together with the transfer film. We then reached for the hot air dryer: the lettering was heated and pressed into the façade, first with a wallpaper brush and then with a rubber roller (both are possible) (heating alone is not enough, the pressing step is important to ensure that the lettering stays in place even in wind and weather).
The result: lettering in 4 x 6 meter format
Finally, the Büchele and Götzenberger services were added alongside the logo and company name. In total, the lettering now extended to 4 x 6 meters. Such an installation is truly not an everyday occurrence, but it was all the more fun. After all, it was a real challenge to apply the film from the lifting platform in the low temperatures and sometimes strong winds. The best part, however, was the final inspection: the customer was highly satisfied, which is the most important thing.
