The LayFlat binding

Most of us are probably familiar with this situation: you have taken a wonderful panoramic photo, but the format is not so easy to work with because it is extremely wide and relatively narrow. Printing is difficult and does not come into its own on DIN A4, for example, because it is simply too small. WENZEL now has a solution!

Panoramic printing in seconds

With the Konica Minolta AccurioPrint C2060L machine, it is possible to print paper sheets with a maximum format of 120 x 33 cm. We can print on up to 300g paper. In terms of price, this is more attractive than poster printing and, above all, faster: your motif is ready to go in just a few seconds.

The new printing press also opens up completely new possibilities for us when it comes to photo books, namely with the "lay flat" binding method. We are not exaggerating when we say that we are taking this type of binding to a whole new level. It all starts with the prints that we can produce with the new Konica Minolta. The large, long sheets reach our colleagues in the bindery. After creasing and, if necessary, laminating (more on this below), a double-sided adhesive carrier is clamped into the binding machine. The creased print (see photos) is placed on this with a perfect fit. We then glue another backing onto this, followed by the next page and so on. The result is a stack of neatly glued prints that do not require any stitching and hardly disturb the appearance of panoramic photos. No loss due to the binding in the middle, the motif can be seen in its entirety.

To laminate pages or not?

We can laminate the pages of the photo book with a matt or gloss finish. We recommend this especially for photo books that have a representative function and are often touched and turned over. This is because laminated pages do not suffer as quickly and can be carefully wiped with a damp cloth if necessary.

Multi-folded DIN A4 flyers

However, this printable format not only opens up completely new possibilities for "simple" printing. We are now also able to produce 6-page A4 flyers, for example. In the first step, we print your desired motif on both sides of the long sheet. We then crease and fold the flyer so that it has an A4 format when closed, but 3x A4 when opened - i.e. 29.7 cm high, 63 cm long.

More options for saddle stitching

Another option opened up by the new machine is saddle stitching in A4 landscape format. Opened, we are talking about a format of 21 cm high and 59.4 cm wide - all in a small and inexpensive print run. This eye-catching format is suitable for any kind of marketing, as a brochure of this kind can still be transported wonderfully "closed".
