Bindings for your Bachelor's thesis, Master's thesis, dissertation, etc.

Hotmelt binding, spiral binding, softcover binding and hardcover binding
We offer every type of binding for your bachelor's or master's thesis (or dissertation, of course). But which is best? The inexpensive perfect binding? Or the elegant hardcover binding? We present all types of binding, including sample photos, so that you can get a better idea. In the calculator below you can calculate in real time how your choice will affect the price.

Hotmelt binding

The hotmelt binding: The classic among bindings

Hotmelt binding is the best-known binding method of all. The classic, so to speak. We print your Bachelor's thesis / Master's thesis on the paper of your choice (more information in the Printing). We then add black cardboard to the back or glossy foil to the front (do you want a different cardboard color? Then simply leave us a brief message in the comments field during the ordering process). We then glue this stack together with a black rebate tape, done.

Here is an example of a hot glue binding:
This option is one of the cheapest and is excellent for any type of thesis. The production time (depending on the number of pages and desired copies) is usually 1 working day. Express deliveries are also possible for perfect binding, but only by prior arrangement. For this you can contact us at any time.

Spiral binding

The spiral binding: stable and practical

Spiral binding is an inexpensive way to bind a thesis. We punch holes on the left edge of the work and attach the desired spiral to the stack. You can choose from the colors white, black or silver for the wire. The production time (depending on the number of pages and desired copies) is usually 1 working day, sometimes even faster. Express service is possible (completion within half a working day or less), but only by prior arrangement to clarify everything. You can contact us at any time.

Here is an example photo of a spiral binding:

Please check with your university/university of applied sciences whether spiral binding is permitted for a Bachelor's or Master's thesis, for example. In our experience, a perfect binding, softcover binding or hardcover binding is mandatory. Spiral binding is therefore suitable for exemplars that have to be proofread again or for "small" papers such as a seminar paper, term paper or similar.

Softcover binding

Softcover binding: The elegant version

Another elegant variant of binding is the softcover binding. This "encloses" the printed pages almost completely and most closely resembles the cover of a paperback book. This type of binding therefore does not require a folded binding (see glue binding above), but offers an uninterrupted look from the left over the spine to the right. Depending on the size of the work and the number of copies required, the production time is 1-2 working days. You can calculate the cost of softcover binding below. Note: The binding usually only lasts with sufficient sheets of paper, but the calculator takes this into account.

Here is an example photo of a softcover binding:
The design of the cover is of course entirely up to you, you have complete freedom. Many print the title on the front, some leave it "blank" or, for example, hold back on the design with "Bachelor thesis" and the author's name.
Express orders are also possible for this binding work. However, as production is more complex than with perfect binding or spiral binding, it is essential to make arrangements in advance. You can find contact details here.

Hardcover binding: Deluxe and Standard

Hardcover "Deluxe": Looks classy, feels good

The "Deluxe" hardcover binding is by far the most elegant solution for presenting a bachelor's thesis, master's thesis, etc. and emphasizes the dedication and effort that the author has put in. As with a book, the front and back are made of sturdy cardboard. The cover is made of adhesive foil. We produce the "Deluxe" hardcover binding by hand, so a corresponding lead time is essential during production. Added to this is the drying time of the adhesive. Depending on the scope of the work and the number of copies required, a production time of 1-3 working days can be expected.

Here is an example of a deluxe hardcover binding:

In addition, a deluxe binding is only possible from a certain number of pages, so that the spine is thick enough for gluing. Alternatively, you can also choose a thicker paper to achieve the required thickness (simply test in the calculator below).

We can do the typesetting/design for the cover for you. Just tell us your idea and we will make you an offer. You can contact us here contact us. By the way, for all bindings you need to convert your convert your Word file into a PDF for for printing.

Hardcover "Standard": The clamp binding

The "Standard" hardcover variant is a clamp binding and is an inexpensive alternative to the classic "Deluxe" hardcover binding. The lower price is due to the lower workload and the already finished cover. Specifically, we push the printed copies of your bachelor's or master's thesis to the spine of the cover and clamp the pages in place. The appearance of the "Standard" hardcover binding differs only marginally from the conventional clamp binding.

Here is an example of a "Standard" hardcover binding.
ATTENTION FOR UNIVERSITY/ SCHOOL WORK: Find out in advance whether your institute accepts the clamp binding ("standard"). There may be binding regulations that you must adhere to. If so, you should of course choose the classic hardcover ("Deluxe"). In our experience, many institutes give their students a free choice, but this varies from case to case. Therefore, we would like to point out once again: Please obtain information in advance about how the Bachelor's or Master's thesis should be presented.

Hot foil stamping and embossing

Hot foil stamping or embossing? Which is which?

If you want to add the "icing on the cake" to the elegant hardcover binding (and only with the hardcover binding, embossing is not possible with any other binding), you can opt for an embossing embossing: Either hot foil stamping or print embossing. Prices vary significantly depending on the number of lines and letters. You can estimate the exact costs in the calculator.
Hot foil stamping is available in gold and silver and there are two different font sizes. Print embossing, on the other hand, is more flexible: you can freely choose the font and even the color. Just make sure that the lines are not too intricate or the font too small. Here you can find detailed information on embossing for your Bachelor's thesis / Master's thesis / dissertation.

Softcover and hardcover with PUR adhesive

We use extremely durable PUR adhesive. What is the advantage?

For softcover and hardcover bindings, we use a special adhesive to produce your work. The advantage of this is that the binding remains flexible and "supple" even after a very long time, unlike other adhesives which harden in the medium term.
This significantly increases the lifespan of your binding. Even after years on the shelf, your bachelor's thesis, master's thesis, project work or whatever it may be can be opened without it "falling apart". At a low price, but absolutely top quality.
